DeadFall Resource Pack

The DeadFall Resource Pack is the visual side of DeadFall, built to help shape the atmosphere, item design, and overall survival feel of the project. Right now, it mainly exists as a working visual foundation while everything is still being built out, so the focus is more on getting things functional and readable than making every asset fully final.

Overview

This pack includes visual work for things like custom items, weapons, medical supplies, food and drink items, environmental assets, UI elements, and model overrides. A lot of it is there to help establish the tone and style of the world while also making sure everything is easy to identify and use in-game.

At this stage, the pack is still very much a development build, so a lot of things are subject to change as the project grows.

Project Structure

To help keep the pack more organized early on, the resource pack is split into multiple internal libraries. This makes it easier to separate categories of assets, keep things visually consistent, and avoid everything turning into one giant mess while development is still moving quickly.

These libraries are mainly there to keep the project manageable and easier to expand over time. Instead of throwing every model, texture, and UI element into one place, things are separated by purpose so they can be worked on more cleanly and consistently.

Examples of this include areas for things like:

  • Weapons and firearms
  • Melee items
  • Consumables and medical items
  • UI and HUD elements
  • General shared assets and support files

This structure is mostly for development organization right now, but it also helps set up a cleaner long-term workflow as the pack gets larger.

Asset Notice

Assets used in this pack are currently a mix of:

  • Fully handmade assets
  • Edited or reworked assets based on publicly found online resources

Anything that is not fully original is being used as a temporary development solution. These are mainly in place to help with testing, visual clarity, and building out the overall direction of the pack.

All placeholder, edited, or externally-inspired assets are planned to be fully replaced, remade, or heavily redesigned before the full release version of DeadFall. The end goal is for the final version to have a much more original and cohesive visual identity across the board.

Current State

This resource pack is still in active development. Because of that, you may run into things like:

  • Inconsistent art direction
  • Placeholder textures or models
  • Temporary UI elements
  • Assets that are unfinished or unpolished
  • Visuals that exist only for testing

That’s expected for now.

Compatibility

Built for Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.11.

Using it outside of that version, or with other packs that override similar assets, may cause visual issues or conflicts.

Installation

  1. Drop the pack into your resourcepacks folder
  2. Enable it in Minecraft
  3. Make sure it’s placed above anything that could override it if needed

Credits

This resource pack is part of the larger DeadFall project.

Some in-development assets are currently based on edited or reworked materials sourced from publicly available references or online resources. These are temporary and are not intended to represent final release-quality content. Any assets that remain in use in a final form will be properly replaced, redesigned, or handled as needed before release.

Permissions

Please do not redistribute, reupload, or reuse assets from this pack without permission. This is an active project build and not intended to be used as a public asset pack or resource library.

Future Plans

Planned future improvements include:

  • More original item textures
  • Cleaner and more consistent visual direction
  • Redesigned UI elements
  • Better overall polish
  • A stronger finalized art style
  • Full replacement of temporary placeholder assets

Final Note

This pack should be treated as a development-stage visual build for DeadFall. A lot of what’s currently included is here to help support the project while it’s still growing, and nearly everything is open to change before the final release.
